Burial vaults are required at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park. A burial vault is a container, usually made of concrete or a combination of concrete and other materials, in which a casket is placed prior to burial.
Burial vaults can be purchased through a funeral director or directly from the cemetery. At Mt. Olivet, we also offer a concrete grave liner (also called a grave box). These boxes serve the purpose of offering ground support and protect the casket from collapsing due to pressure from the ground. Grave liners have no lining and they do not seal, so they offer minimal protection from water and the elements.
As usual, at Mt. Olivet, we try to rise above our competitors to offer families a little bit more at a fair price. For this reason, all grave boxes we sell are notched so the lid fits securely on, allowing the lid to stay in place as the grave is closed.
If a grave liner is purchased in place of a vault - you will not need to purchase both a grave liner and a vault.
